In 1863, Master weaver Thomas Lister Kay, from Northern England arrived in Oregon, USA to establish himself at the heart of the areas upcoming woolen industry. By 1912 his sister had married into the bishop family, an established retail name within the Oregon area. The brand Pendleton was born. With the family weaving expertise mixed with the Bishops knowledge of retail the brand become synonymous with amazing hand made blankets and colourful wool shirts and plaids.
